They can be an integral part of recovery. Members of support groups gather to share common problems and experiences associated with a particular condition, illness, or personal circumstance. In a support group, people are able to talk with others who truly understand what they’re going through, and can share the insights that come from firsthand experience, making participants feel less alone and more understood.
